Our candle collection is about atmosphere, memory and quiet moments. Each candle is locally made in Wales, using carefully selected fragrances designed to bring warmth and calm into the home.

Our candles are hand-poured in Cowbridge, just a short distance from our shop opposite Cardiff Castle. Small batches ensure quality, consistency and care at every stage of the process.

Cwtch, a Welsh word meaning a warm cuddle or safe embrace, is a beautifully presented candle from The Original Welsh Candle Co, created to capture comfort, warmth and a feeling of being held. Burning for over 40 hours.
Poured into a stylish copper tin with a deep charcoal label, this candle combines modern simplicity with meaningful Welsh heritage. Its compact size makes it ideal for cosy corners, bedside tables or gifting, while the understated design allows it to sit effortlessly in any home.

Care Instructions
To get the best from your Welsh candle, a little care goes a long way.
Before Lighting
- Trim the wick to approximately 5mm before each use.
- Place your candle on a heat-resistant surface, away from drafts.
During Use
- Allow the wax to melt fully across the surface on the first burn. This helps prevent tunnelling.
- Burn for 2–4 hours at a time for the cleanest, most even burn.
- Keep the wick upright and centred while burning.
After Use
- Extinguish gently and allow the wax to cool completely before relighting.
- Re-trim the wick once the wax has set.
Safety
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Keep away from children, pets and flammable objects.
- Do not move the candle while the wax is hot.
With proper care, your candle will burn evenly, last longer and fill your home with warmth for many hours to come.
